Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley for Horace “Bill” Cutten, age 91, who passed away Wednesday at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Rev. Aaron Nett will officiate and burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Eden Valley. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Eden Valley.

Horace William Cutten was born Nov. 17, 1926 in Crookston to Horace W. & May (Crandall) Cutten. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Bill married Chloe Guillemette on Sept. 12, 1950 in Red Lake Falls and they have lived in Eden Valley since 1957. He was the owner and editor of the Eden Valley Journal for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Bill was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and former member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of Eden Valley American Legion Post #381, Eden Valley Sportsman’s Club and Eden Valley Fire & Rescue. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and feeding and watching birds. He was a devoted husband and father who was actively involved in the community. Bill was modest and patriotic.

Survivors include his wife, Chloe of Watkins, formerly of Eden Valley; children, Vicki Snyder of Plymouth, Ula Cutten of Philadelphia, PA, Clay (Lisa) Cutten of Rogers, AR and Scott Cutten of Clifton, CO; granddaughter, Sarah Snyder of St. Cloud; great grandsons, Jaylen and Keyonte of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wilma Moltrecht.
