DASSEL - A fire destroyed a hay shed in Meeker County on Saturday.

The incident happened just before 11:45 a.m. in the 26000 block of County Road 4 in rural Dassel.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says fire crews arrived to find a hay shed fully engulfed. A farmer was loading hay into the shed with a skid-loader, which caused a spark and started the hay on fire.

Fire crews put out the blaze, the shed was a total loss and 35 hay bales were destroyed. No one was hurt and no other property was damaged.

The Cokato Fire Department, Litchfield Fire Department, Kimball Fire Department and Hutchinson Fire Department all helped in putting out the fire.
