Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 pm Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Camp Ripley Chapel for Geneva Kitzman who died Thursday at the St. Therese of Oxbow Lake Care Center in Brooklyn Park. The Rev. Tom Becker will officiate and burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the chapel in Camp Ripley.

Geneva was born in Browerville to Anton & Lovena (Smith) Macho. She attended Todd County Schools, graduating from Browerville High School. She married Donald Lane Kitzman on May 25, 1946 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in St. Paul. Geneva worked in accounting and auditing for four years in St. Paul. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, cum Laude, from Moorhead State University. She attended the University of North Dakota earning a degree in Special Education. Geneva taught elementary and special education in Minnesota and North Dakota for 38 years. Geneva was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Ladies of the Valley Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She is also a Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, The Retired Teachers Association, Moorhead University Alumni Association and the Burlington Northern, Sante Fe Railroad Association. Don and Geneva lived in Mesa Arizona from 1993-2011.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, infant son, Roger Lynn, sisters, Leona Deering, Alma Logering and brother, Vernon Macho.
