Downtown St. Cloud Construction to Impact Metro Bus Riders
ST. CLOUD -- Metro Bus passengers who use the downtown St. Cloud Transit Center will have a different pick up and drop off site this summer. Construction on 5th Avenue South will move boarding operations down the street.
The construction project will close 5th Avenue to traffic and prevent Metro Bus from using the Transit Center until the work is completed.
Metro Bus Chief Operating Officer Tom Cruikshank says they'll use the Lady Slipper lot like in 2012 when the Transit Center was closed for renovation. Buses will be staged along 1st Street South and a portion of 6th Avenue South.
Pedestrians will still be able to access the Transit Center to buy passes and talk with Metro Bus staff.
The change in boarding location will take place from early June until mid-September.
