CAMP RIPLEY -- Sometimes there's nothing better than to go fishing.

For the last four years, Camp Ripley has helped disabled veterans have fun on the water with the Trolling for Troops event.

National Guard's Major John Donovan says the event brings veterans and recently deployed soldiers together.

"The event pairs disabled veterans with a recently deployed soldier and we team them up with a professional angler and they have a great day on the river," says Maj Donovan.

The event was created to mirror their annual deer hunting event. However, this opportunity allows past and present veterans to sit down and chat about their experiences, life and fishing.

Dave Munsinger has been attending the annual fishing event every year. He says each year is enjoyable.

"I've been at one on Mille Lacs Lake, and three here and every year has been good, so no sweat there at all," says Munsinger.

Donovan says the event is a huge success for everyone who attends, and continues to grow not only in numbers but in friendships as well.
