UNDATED -- One of the cases before the U.S Supreme Court this fall is DACA or Deferred Action for Child Arrivals. It protects children who were brought into the country illegally and allows them to work and go to school without the fear of being deported.

Phil Kronebusch is a political science professor at the College of St. Benedict and St. Johns University. He says President Donald Trump has called the Obama-administration policy illegal and wants to withdraw it.

The case before the Supreme Court will determine whether President Trump has the authority to repeal the DACA policy.

A ruling isn't expected for weeks or even months, but court experts suggest the conservative majority of the court may side with Trump.

The president said this week that if he is given the authority to repeal the policy, he'd work with Democrats on a solution.
