ST. CLOUD -- Catholic Charities is reminding the public that they can accept donations of fresh produce at food shelf and senior dining locations.

"Adding just an extra packet of seeds or a plant or two to your garden can make a real difference," says Mare Simpler of Catholic Charities, in a statement released to the media.

Last year, the non-profit organization expanded its "Plant a Row/Harvest a Row" program and recorded 10-thousand servings of fruits and vegetables were donated to their sites.

Last March, Rejuv Medical became a partner and started a Community Giving Garden in Waite Park, which produced over 270 pounds of food that was given to the Senior Dining site at Whitney Senior Center.

You can donate fresh produce to Catholic Charities Emergency Services (Door D) on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 157 Roosevelt Road in St. Cloud. at  To get involved with a Community Giving Garden, call Mare Simpler at (320) 229-4591.
