Campers Pile In Ready For a Weekend at Halfway Jam [VIDEO]
ROYALTON -- Whether by trailer, mobile home, or tent thousands of people are gathering in fields near Royalton for three days of rock at Halfway Jam.
Campground Manager Denise Silvers says that people drop off their campers the Sunday before to save their spot.
"They pay fifteen-dollars a day just to save their spot, they don't even camp out here yet they just hold their spot," says Silvers.
The three day event starts tonight (Thursday) with music starting at 5:00 p.m and goes until the Saturday.
Bruce Brown has been camping at Halfway Jam for ten years, all in the same spot.
"It has a nice breeze and easy access to the concert area, it's a good time," says Brown.
Silver says while things could get crazy they campers behave well.
...It's really like a family
"They are all good people, I've had no problems with them," says Silver.
This is Kami Schoeszler's first year at Halfway Jam. She says she's excited for what's in store.
"The bands, the music, the fun it's kind of like a vacation just to get away," says Schoeszler.
Although it's the bands that continues to bring people back year after year, campers will tell you its the people they meet that makes the experience worth it.
"Just the people you know, everybody just gets together walks around and have a good time," says Brown.
"Listening to good music and then coming back and having more fun at the camper," says Schoeszler.
"It's really like a family, they are all family," says Silvers.
