ST. CLOUD -- Catholic Charities of St. Cloud hosted an opening ceremony for the new Intensive Treatment Cottage for children Wednesday.

The new building is located at 1726 7th Avenue South and cost about $4.6-million. The facility was part of their $8-million capital campaign. Catholic Charities broke ground on the building last year.

The new space is more than 19,000 square feet or about four times as large as their old building.

Tim Lieseris the director of Resident and Day Services. He says there are 16 children that will call the new space home.

Catholic Charities supports more than 40 programs including programs that help children struggling with mental health issues. The old building will be used to accommodate some of their out patient programs.

Bishop Donald Kettler attended the event and held a small service to bless the facility. Lieser says it was important to Catholic Charities to have the Bishop attend.
