Becker Woman Hurt in Highway 10 Crash

BIG LAKE TOWNSHIP -- One person was hurt in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Big Lake Township.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a pick-up driven by 53-year-old Paul Kelley of Elk River was northbound on 172nd Street at about 6:30 a.m. when he tried to cross Highway 10 and was struck by a westbound SUV.

The driver of the SUV, 25-year-old Nicole Schmidt of Becker, then continued on and hit two vehicles waiting at the stop sign along southbound 172nd Street and Highway 10.

Schmidt was taken to a Maple Grove hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
