WAITE PARK -- Hundreds enjoyed live music, food, and classic cars on a beautiful summer night Friday in Waite Park as part of Family Fun Fest.

Nearly 100 cars -- including big-name legends and modern classics -- packed Community Park with live music provided by Whitesidewalls.

"Being able to take one of the old cars out and enjoy it in this kind of weather in Minnesota -- can't argue," says Don Klein of Clearwater, who brought out his classic 1957 Ford Thunderbird.

"Can't get much better [than this]."

One of the fan-favorites of the night was an award-winning 2010 Tranformers Edition Camaro owned by Mike Wade of St. Cloud.

"I [intended] on opening this year with a trophy and I did that," says Wade, who was displayed his Camaro at several shows this year. "With any luck, I plan on getting a handful more before the end of the year."

Wade says awards are nice, but being at a local event like Family Fun Fest on a perfect summer night is enough of a prize in and of itself.

"It's really good to interact with [the community] on such a positive level," Wade says.

"Couldn't have asked for a better day, either -- I think summer's finally here."

Family Fun Fest continues in Waite Park tomorrow with a Superhero fun run, parade, and live music events.
