Amelia ‘Maggie’ M. Fouquette, age 102, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 29, 2026 at St John’s Catholic Church in Foley. Rev. Michael Wolfbauer will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 28 at St. John’s Catholic Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Parish prayer will be at 6:00 PM Thursday evening. Service with Dignity provided by Foley Funeral Home.

Maggie was born on May 24, 1923 in Duelm, MN to Martin and Agnes (Lewandowski) Schendzielos. She married Louis J. Fouquette on March 8, 1943 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Foley. She attended Foley Public schools until eighth grade, then Paul’s Hairdressing Academy for cosmetology. She worked for Little’s Beauty shop in Foley before she married. Maggie also worked for the Foley Nursing Center as a cook and baker for 14 years. She was president of the Gilman Senior Center for 10 years. Baking was a gift she passed down to her children along with gardening and canning skills. Maggie enjoyed going to the casino, a good poker game, playing all kinds of card games and visits from her family especially the grandchildren when they would stop by for a visit. She remembered all their names and what activities they were in. Acknowledging and accepting their choices made her the best grandma ever.

She is survived by her children, Janice McAlister, daughter in law Sandy Fouquette, Marlene Emmerich, Magdalen (Terrence) Johnson; Gary Fouquette; Jay Fouquette; Amy (Jim) Roehl; Jeffery (Elaine) Fouquette; Terrance “T.J.”(Brenda) Fouquette; Guy (Liz) Fouquette, Michelle (Duane) du’Monceaux; Van A.(Karen) Fouquette; 30 Grandchildren, 87 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her husband Louis (Oct. 31st, 1997). Son Gerald “Joe”, Grandchildren; Lisa, Joseph “Joey”, Jason and Cody. Daughter in law Cynthia, Son-in-laws George McAlister and Richard Emmerich. Her parents along with 10 siblings.
