UNDATED - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning through 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

A powerful storm remains on track to bring winter weather across the Upper Midwest. Snow is expected develop Saturday night across the south and increase in intensity across west central Minnesota on Sunday.

Further east a winter mix is expected, with snow, sleet, and freezing rain all possible. On Sunday night a change over to all snow will take place, and very strong winds will develop across the Minnesota River Valley.

Wind gusts near 40 mph will cause blowing snow and possibly whiteout conditions which will last into Monday morning.

Looking ahead, cooler temperatures will follow for early next week.
