BROOKLYN PARK (AP) - Authorities say residents of 45 apartments evacuated safely after fire swept through the building in Brooklyn Park.

About 100 firefighters from 12 agencies were called to help put out the three-alarm fire which broke out about 3:30 a.m. Friday.

The tenants were taken to an activity center at the apartment complex. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Witnesses told investigators the fire may have started on a third-floor balcony.
