ST. CLOUD - A 16-year-old boy from St. Cloud was arrested on Friday night after he allegedly ran from police in his vehicle after officers attempted to pull him over.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive Southeast.

Speeds of the chase reached 65 MPH before the driver lost control and hit a light pole and a tree. The suspect then attempted to run from police on foot but was caught by Officers.

A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Alanna Schmatz was taken to St. Cloud hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The juvenile driver is facing charges of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, criminal vehicular operation, 4th degree DUI, driving after revocation and stop sign violation.

Officers originally wanted to stop the vehicle for squealing its tires and driving over a curb.
