ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Winter is a great time to curl up with a good book - or several.  The annual Winter Reading Challenge at the Great River Regional Library starts this Friday.  The challenge runs through the end of February.

This year's theme is "Chill Out and Read".

The library says it's open to teens and adults, anyone in the 6th grade and older, and they have incentives for readers to help them settle into cozy winter reading habits.  Each of the 32 branch libraries in the GRRL system will have prize drawings.

All you need to do is register for the program at a branch library, online at griver.org, or on the Beanstack Tracker app.  You can track your winter reading using a paper log from the library or the tracker app Beanstack.  The app allows you to keep track of the books you've read, get book recommendations, and earn online badges.

The library's first Winter Reading program was in 2004, and participation has increased every year since.

Thanks For The Memories In MN Adam, SKOL Vikings

With the Minnesota Vikings waiving Detroit Lakes-native, former Minnesota State Mankato Maverick, Adam Thielen today, it's only natural to go back and revisit his time with the hometown team. Here are some pictures of Adam in purple from his two stints with the Vikings, and his stats during his time with the Vikings.
