Why Don’t We Have These in St. Cloud? Opportunity?
I read a story about a guy who had surgery and needed to sit down to wait for a bus. There wasn't a bench at this particular bus stop, so he wound up sitting on the curb to wait. That seems first, dangerous and secondly kind of sad that he had to do this.
Looks like there was an opportunity, and because of this social media post, the city of Berkley put a bench at this particular bus stop. The post is from November, and I'm not sure how long it took to get a bench on this bus stop, but at least it happened.
IS THIS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE ST. CLOUD AREA?
This got me thinking of something a bit more local. Why aren't there any benches at some of the busier bus stops? I know that there are a couple of shelters at a handful of them, which is great. But should there be a few benches here and there around the city of St. Cloud too?
The bench that they put at the bus stop in Berkley, CA looks more like a park bench that could be easily removed. Maybe not the best idea for a permanent solution, but at least it was something. Is this something that we should look at here in St. Cloud? Maybe some strategicly placed benches around the city would be nice anyway.
Just a thought and/or opinion. What do you think?
