ST. CLOUD -- A California man has been charged with felony drug possession after a traffic stop uncovered a large amount of marijuana.

A Stearns County criminal complaint shows 56-year-old Guy Gibeau is charged with one count of 2nd-degree drug possession.

Waite Park Police made a traffic stop Friday along 2nd Street South when the driver failed to make a complete stop. Court records indicate the officer immediately smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The officer identified the driver as Gibeau and arrested him on an active felony warrant.

Police say a search of the vehicle uncovered 91 one-pound bags of marijuana.

The Phelan, California man is being held in the Stearns County Jail on $100,000 bail. He's due to make his first court appearance Monday.
