SAUK CENTRE -- Two people were arrested after a drug bust near Sauk Centre earlier this week. The incident happened just after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday on I-94, east of Sauk Centre.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a deputy made a traffic stop, approached the vehicle, and began talking to the driver. During the conversation, the deputy noticed something suspicious inside.

A police dog was called in to search the vehicle. During the search, authorities found about 87 grams of methamphetamine, three grams of marijuana and other narcotics.

The driver, 38-year-old Adam Trites of Battle Lake, and his passenger 34-year-old Michael Buchanan of Henning, were arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail.

They face charges of 1st degree possession of a controlled substance.
