Kick of Granite City Days the right way and head out to an incredible Friday night at the Liberty Savings Block Party. This years theme is the SUPER 60's BLOCK PARTY at Whitney Park. Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone will headline the night. Also performing will be The Grass Roots, and the White Sidewalls. The party begins at 5:00 p.m and the event is free.
Lace up your running shoes and enjoy a friendly 5K race in Sauk Rapids. The 6th Annual Tanners Team Foundation 5K will be held at Bob Cross Park Saturday. The event even a two mile course for walkers and a kids 1K course to check out. Cost is $30 for the 5K and $15 for the 1K. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
Check out one of the most acclaimed bands of the classic rock era Saturday night. England's Bad Company is planning in the Amphitheater at Grand Casino Hinckley. Their music has resulted in the creation of some of the most timeless rock anthems ever, led by singer/songwriter Paul Rodgers. Show begins at 7:00 p.m. and tickets run from $45-$75.
Tis the season for annual city festivals and St. Augusta is holding theirs this weekend. The two day event includes firefighter water ball fights, arts and crafts, and kid's tractor pull. However the main event is the street dance featuring Diamondback. The band takes the stage at 8:00 p.m. and will go until 12:30 a.m. The event is free to attend.
After a jam packed Saturday enjoy a relaxing Sunday next to the Mississippi River and the beautiful flowers. The Munsinger Clemens Botanical Society is hosting another Music in the Garden event Sunday afternoon. The show starts at 3:00 p.m. near the Gazebo. This weeks music is a Monday Jazz Night. The concert free and there will fabulous root beer floats for $1.
