ST. CLOUD — It's an exciting weekend full of fun and activities throughout Central Minnesota this weekend. You can enjoy the Governors Fishing Opener with some fun activities, relive the Summer of Love with Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks, head to Sauk Rapids for the Learned Ladies performance, catch the Thrillbillies rocking the stage at Rollie's and enjoy the music of the Eagles at the Paramount Theatre.     Governor's Fishing Opener

    St. Cloud

    The 70th Annual Governors Fishing Opener kick's off in St. Cloud this weekend and there is a few fun things you can do without fishing. You can start your fun on Friday with the “Opener By George” community picnic. The event begins at 4:00 p.m. at Lake George starting where organizers plan to serve about 8,000 free meals while listening to the sounds of the band is G.B. Leighton. On Saturday you can make your way to Lions Southside park in Sauk Rapids. Local business owners are holding a free event from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  including a food court, a beer garden, and some entertainment throughout the day. Both events are free to attend.

    1967 & The Summer of Love

    Pioneer Place

    Enjoy the sounds of summer this weekend at the Pioneer Place. Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks are taking you back to 1967 and the Summer of Love! You'll hear music from The Byrds, Lovin' Spoonful and many more. Tickets for the show are $28 in advance and $30 at the door. Show times run tonight (Thursday) through Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m.

    The Learned Ladies

    Sauk Rapids Middle School

    You are invited to enjoy the performance of a comedy straight form the pen of the French playwright Moliere. The Learned Ladeis is a comedy of manners and domestic crosspurpose sure to entertain and inspire the entire family. The performance will take place at the Sauk Rapids Middle School tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the show are $10 per person or $40 per family. Tickets are available at the door.

    Thrillbillies

    Rollie's Rednecks and Longnecks

    Up-tempo, county dance music will ring out through Rollie's Rednecks and Longnecks this weekend. The Thrillbillies will be rocking the stage with their amazing harmonies and fun, party attitude. With over 300 plus country songs these guys have something for everyone to get up and dance too. There is no charge to get in and show starts at 9:00 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) night.

    Takin' It To The Limit: Tribute to the Eagles

    Paramount Theatre

    After a four year absence the Fabulous Armadillos are bringing back a fan favorite Takin' It to the Limits: Tribute to the Eagles. The show will feature all the hits from the Eagles musical career. Local music group Collective Unconscious will be joining the group to bring this three night event to life. Tickets for the show range between $23-$34. Performances run tonight (Thursday) through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre.
