DASSEL -- Meeker County authorities have arrested a teenage girl after she was threatening her family with a knife.

Sheriff Brian Cruze says deputies were called to a home in Dassel shortly after 8:00 p.m. Friday on a domestic situation. The family was reporting that 16-year-old Olivia Schwartz was trying to attack the family with a knife.

When officers arrived, the girl had left the house and was sitting in a vehicle. When Schwartz saw the deputies she fled, leading them on a chase through a plowed field. The car got stuck and Schwartz tried to flee on foot. Officers were able to catch her and take her into custody.

Schwartz is being held in the Prairie lakes Detention Center on suspicion of terroristic threats and fleeing police.
