ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Police Department's Community Crime Impact Team is leading the continued investigation of recent acts of vandalism at local Islamic faith centers.

From November 7th to December 5th, the SCPD responded to five reports of property damage in south St. Cloud.

These damages included two occasions of a broken window of the buildings and three other times of car windows being broken.

None of the victims were present at the time of the damages and no one has been injured.

Central Minnesota Islamic Center spokesman Mohamoud Mohamed has said repairs to windows will cost more than $1,000.

The Community Crime Impact Team said in a statement that the acts over the last month are "troubling and will not be tolerated."

The task force will use video surveillance, extra patrols, and plain clothes enforcement to resolve the problem.

The SCPD is asking anyone with information about the acts of vandalism to come forward to help the investigation by calling 320-251-1200 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301.
