Central Minnesota could see some heavy weather today and tonight.

Warm, humid conditions are expected to come together over the region to create strong to severe thunderstorms and torrential rain.

A Flash Flood Watch is already posted through lunchtime Wednesday.  3-6" of rain is possible in some areas.  And that's expected to create flash flooding in some areas.

The National Weather Services says:

Periods of rain and thunderstorms, especially along and north of the I-94 corridor, are expected today as a warm front gradually lifts north over southern and central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Some of the storms may produce heavy rain with rainfall rates exceeding 1 inch per hour. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday for much of southern and central Minnesota into western Wisconsin. In addition, late this afternoon through this evening, there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds as the primary hazards. The warm and humid environment will be conducive for heavy rain through Wednesday, when a cold front will push through the region, bringing in a brief bout of cooler and drier air for late Wednesday into Thursday. Another frontal system will arrive for Friday through Saturday that will bring additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms.
