Storms Roll Through Central Minnesota

ST. CLOUD -- Storms made there way through central Minnesota Monday evening.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northwestern Benton, southeastern Morrison and northeastern Stearns Counties that expired at 5:15 p.m. The northeastern Stearns County warning was cancelled early at around 4:45 p.m.

A storm capable of producing a tornado went through southwestern Wright County. Southwestern Wright County was under a tornado warning, that expired at 5:15 p.m.

Storms continued through Wright County and Sherburne County, a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect until 5:45 p.m. along with a tornado warning until 6:00 p.m.

Mille Lacs and Isanti Counties were also included in a tornado warning through 6:15 p.m.

Storms produced winds up to 60 mph, ping pong sized hail and damage to roofs, windows, mobile homes and vehicles. Trees and power lines are down near Zimmerman. A tornado was spotted near Zimmerman shortly before 6:00 p.m.
