Stearns County Law Enforcement Center Locked Down After Employees Report Sound of Gun Shot
ST. CLOUD - The Law Enforcement Center in St. Cloud was locked down for a short period today (Saturday), after employees heard what they thought were gunshots.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened just after 4:30 p.m.
Several Stearns County employees, including three licensed deputies, were inside the Law Enforcement Center when they heard what sounded like a gun shot. The LEC was locked down, including the Stearns County Jail.
St. Cloud Police and the State Patrol responded to assist the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office. A complete search of the inside and outside of the building was completed twice. No one suspicious was located nor any suspicious item found. The source of the sound was not identified and no evidence of a gunshot was identified.
The LEC was placed back on normal status shortly before 6:00 P.M.
