ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County has delayed a decision on regulating public Motocross tracks.

The issue of Motocross tracks brought passionate testimony from both those in favor and those opposed to the tracks.

The county is looking to regulate public tracks after a St. Martin track opened last summer and drew numerous complaints from neighbors about noise and dust. The county ordered the track closed last fall until changes to the land use ordinance could be drafted.

The county board decided to keep the public hearing open to allow for more testimony and to ensure a full board would be available to vote on the issue. Commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier was absent at Tuesday's meeting and commissioner DeWayne Mareck had to leave early.

The county board will resume the public hearing at their April 9th meeting.
