Stearns Commissioners Approve Contract With Interim Human Services Administrator

ST. CLOUD -- The retired Human Services Administrator in Dakota county will take over the same role in the interim in Stearns County. Dave Rooney will replace Roma Steil when she retires next month.

County Administrator George Rindelaub says it is a position they can't leave vacant because of budget constraints.  He says it is the county's largest department with hundreds of employees.  it also deals with thousands of clients, budgets and state and federal agencies.

Rooney is an alum of Brooten High School and St. Cloud State University.

He will act as the interim Human Services Administrator and will help the county develop new goals and objectives.

He starts April 22nd.

Meanwhile, the county will start an official search for Steil's permanent replacement.
