STEARNS COUTY - A St. Joseph woman was severely hurt when she was attacked by two dogs on Monday afternoon.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 61-year-old Julie Lingl of St. Joseph was walking her small dog on the shoulder of the road, past a home on Frontage Road in St. Joseph Township.

Two adult boxers that were in a fenced backyard at the home jumped the fence and attacked Lingl's dog, killing it.

When Lingl tried to pick up her dog from the road, the boxers attacked her. She suffered severe injuries to her legs. She also suffered multiple lacerations and puncture wounds to her arms, back, head and face. She was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital.

The Sheriff's Office took the dogs and is containing them during the investigation. The home with the dogs is owned by 59-year-old Rak Tray and 49-year-old Michelle Tray. The attack happened just after 4:30 p.m.
