St. Cloud State Looks to Keep Tuition Affordable [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD - The national average cost of attending college is up again this year and St. Cloud State University is working to keep tuition affordable.
The national average of attending a public four year University with living costs is just under $19,000 a year. At St. Cloud State, the average price is just over $16,000 dollars.
Director of financial aid at SCSU, Michael Uran, says the University put in a tuition freeze several years ago to keep prices down.
St. Cloud State also emphasizes that students take 15 class credits per semester so they graduate on time in four years.
Books and transportation costs can also add between $1,000 to $2,000 to the cost of attending college. To help students, the University has recently emphasized increased scholarship access for its students.
