ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud is celebrating Independence Day with big fireworks show again this year.

This is the 67th consecutive year for the 4th of July show - the 9th year in a row they've been launched from a barge on the Mississippi River.

The show is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) night.

There's complimentary reserved seating at Wilson Park for members of the military, their families, and friends. Country music singer Rockie Lynne will perform a tribute to the troops starting at 7:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the St. Cloud Municipal Band will play a pre-fireworks concert across the river at Hester Park starting at 8:30 p.m.

Food vendors will be available at both parks.

The fireworks display is funded entirely by donations from area businesses and individuals. A travel trailer donated by Pleasureland RV is being raffled this year to help pay for the fireworks. Tickets are available at area businesses.

The first fireworks shows were launched in St. Cloud at Lake George starting in 1947, and continued there for several years until they moved to the Benton County Fairgrounds.
