St. Cloud Public Library Seek Restoration Bids, Could Be Closed Until October
ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Public Library could remain closed until early October.
Spokeswoman Julie Henne says staff continue to work to ensure the building and its contents are back to 'pre-fire' condition before opening to the public.
While there isn't excessive fire damage, some areas of the library, including the 2nd floor, sustained light smoke damage.
She says the city and the Great River Regional Library are requesting proposals from several restoration companies to provide fire restoration.
The St. Cloud City Council will consider the bid proposals no later than September 19th. From their the GRRL Board will consider the bids at their September 20th meeting.
Henne says all due dates and hold expiration dates for items in or checked out from the St. Cloud library will continue to be extended until one week after the building is open.
St. Cloud Police say 47-year-old Jorge Ozornia of St. Cloud started the fire. He faces charges of 1st degree arson.
