ST. CLOUD -- The Senate Capital Investment Committee will get a look at the St. Cloud Prison tomorrow as part of their tour of central Minnesota.

The group is getting a first-hand look at local projects in need of bonding bill dollars.

Prison officials will lobby lawmakers for $32.5-million to renovate the intake and health services area.

Department of Corrections spokesman John Schadl says it is a critical project for them because St. Cloud is the intake facility for the entire state. Schadl says the project is needed because of increased safety concerns as the number of intake prisoners increases.
