A state audit says health care services for the approximately 9,000 adult inmates in Minnesota prisons should be better coordinated and more accountable.
Don't be alarmed if you see increased police activity at the St. Cloud Prison this afternoon. Officials with the Department of Corrections say the prison is taking extra precautions after learning of a possible rally there.

A level 3 sex offender has moved into the St. Cloud community. Douglas Felix moved to a home in the 1300 block of Maine Prairie Road in St. Cloud last week. Felix had previously lived at that address, and a community notification meeting was held back in 2008 -- therefore a notification meeting will not be held now.
The idea of a private prison in Minnesota is running into considerable opposition. The proposed House bill requires the Department of Corrections to solicit bids from private companies that want to house the state's inmates. Gov. Mark Dayton' new appointee to head the Department of Corrections, Commissioner Tom Roy, says state prisons should remain in the public sector.
When the new Sauk Rapids City Hall opens later this year it will not have officers from the Minnesota Department of Corrections in the building. The DOC contacted the city staff and said they would be staying where they're at for now.
