ST. CLOUD - Earlier this year the Minnesota State Legislature approved spending nearly $11.6 million in the bonding bill for a new parking ramp in downtown St. Cloud.

Ground hasn't been broken on the project yet, but St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says it is moving forward. He says he's proposing a design to the city council for the ramp to actually be built over 5th Avenue.

Kleis says he also wants to explore the option of expanding the River's Edge Convention Center, to connect it to the new parking ramp.

The city council will explore their options on Monday, during their work study session.

The plan is to break ground on the project in the spring, with completion in 2016.
