MINNEAPOLIS -- A man who was living illegally in St. Cloud has pleaded guilty to illegal re-entry after deportation.

42-year-old Heriberto Barron-Banuelos accepted the plea in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis today.

Records show Barron-Banuelos admitted he was found in the U.S. in November 2010 after having been previously deported back to Mexico. He was arrested after he was caught in Cold Spring for multiple driving violations including using a fake driver's license.

He was first deported after a drug conviction in Otter Tail County in 2000. He also was convicted of illegal re-entry in Texas back in 2003 and was previously deported in 2003 and 2006.

Barron-Banuelos now faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. A federal judge will determine his actual sentence during a hearing at a later date.
