ST. CLOUD - The Stearns County Sheriffs Office have identified the man who was pulled from the Sauk River.

55-year-old Daniel Snively, of St. Cloud, was found dead after he drowned in the Sauk River on Sunday afternoon.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office is still determining the exact cause of death.

Officers say the death is not believed to be suspicious and appears alcohol may have been a factor.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. at 3 Rivercrest Drive in St. Cloud.

A 911 call was placed where the caller said a man was found and pulled out of the Sauk River and that he was unresponsive and blue in color.

Authorities responded and all efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers learned the man was with friends in an apartment complex and he left them to walk into the river. No one saw the event, but he had been seen swimming and diving in the shallow water.

After not seeing him for a while, his friends went looking for him and found him pulled from the water.
