Area Flower Shops in Full Bloom for Valentine’s Day [VIDEO]

ST. CLOUD -- Valentine's Day is here and it's a busy day for local flower shops.  St. Cloud Floral is experiencing a higher call volume for flower orders.

Ruth McGrath is a designer at St. Cloud Floral. She says they typically put an order together in 15 minutes, but custom orders can take longer.

"They usually take a little bit longer because you have to find each individual flower, find a container and price it out," says McGrath.

Each flower in the shop has a different shelf life. Most of their flowers come from greenhouses throughout the Twin Cities.

Seasonal workers are helpful this time of year. They do jobs like pruning, designing and delivering flowers.

McGrath says the employees put their heart into each order.

"We take great care to give it the proper handling, and there is a lot that goes on that the public doesn't see," says McGrath.

If you still need to order flowers for your valentine it's not too late. They are open until 5:00 p.m . The flower shop also has a cooler full of already made arrangements for those on the go.
