After Storms Local Garden Center Opens Up Sunflower Field For Free
With the recent stormy weather that has come through the area, people have had to clean up fallen debris like limbs and branches that had fallen. One local garden center is opening up their sunflower field through September 2nd for no charge after storms rolled through and flattened much of the new flowers.
Green Barn Garden Center in Isanti has opened up its sunflower field to the public for no charge after the most recent storms flattened out the new crop of flowers. There are sections of the field still standing, and for those who would like to experience the beauty of these large yellow flowers, this might be the best time to see them for yourself.
According to a post from the business on social media:
Sunflower Field Update Thurs. August 28: The sunflowers were damaged in the 8/26 storm. Much of the new crop fell so there is no longer a full field view, but there are some good spots for up close photos with fresh flowers. We finished cleaning up-there is no longer a tent, fence, or restrooms. We have cancelled any food/music and there is no longer regular admission charge. There is a cash donation box in the field if you are visiting. Props are still in the field and some have a few blooms around them. Access is open now through Sept. 2nd during daylight hours (there will not be a closing gate). The main paths are still easy to walk. Bring your dog for a stroll! Use caution in the rows with sunflowers tipped. Restroom is available 9-5:30 at the garden center. Thank you to all that visited over the shortened 21 day season! Keep your season/family passes for 2025 (details to follow).
Load up the kids, pet, or just yourself and a camera and take in some last bits of summer before we get overloaded with pumpkin patches, apple orchards, and hot cider.
The Green Barn Garden Center is located at 26501 Highway 65 NE, Isanti, MN.
