St. Cloud Area Businesses To Hold Tours For Manufacturers Week

ST. CLOUD -- Some St. Cloud area manufacturing firms are opening their doors for tours tomorrow (Friday) as part of "Minnesota Manufacturers Week."

Tom Becker is the President and COO for C4 Welding in Sauk Rapids. He says they've invited high school students to come in and tour their facilities.

Becker says manufacturing is an important part of a community's overall economy because it brings in new dollars.

According to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, manufacturing accounts for 1-in-9 jobs here in Minnesota and supports two additional jobs through supplier purchases and employee spending.

Becker says they want to show young people that manufacturing jobs are clean, thought-provoking and well-paying.
