UNDATED - You can sign-up now to help in the event of a future disaster.

Stearns and Benton Counties have Community Emergency Response Teams -- or CERT -- who are trained and prepared to assist when needed.

CERT members join law enforcement, firefighters, and medical personnel.  In the past, volunteers have helped with sandbagging, storm clean-up, searches for missing persons, and more.

An 8-course session will teach members the basics.  The next round of CERT training will be held Tuesday evenings in March and April at the Waite Park Police Department.

Currently there are nearly 500 trained CERT volunteers ranging in age from 20-87.

For more information, and to enroll in the program, call Angie at RSVP at 255-7265.
