Sheriff: Cigarette Thrown From Car Sparks Grass Fire

SAUK CENTRE -- A discarded cigarette could be to blame for a small grass fire near Sauk Centre.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday they received multiple calls of a fire in the west ditch of Highway 71, just south of the intersection with Stearns County Road 29.

About a quarter acre of the ditch was burned.
