A string of severe weather interrupted a warm afternoon on Sunday.

At about 6:30 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm watch which quickly turned into a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado warning for Stearns, Benton and Sherburne Counties.

The warnings expired at 9:15 p.m. this (Sunday) evening.

The storm produced heavy rain, storm winds and large size hail throughout much of Central Minnesota.

The National Weather Service says a severe thunderstorm warning is still in effect for Stearns, Sherburne, Benton, Morrison, Kandyohi, Meeker and Wright Counties until 11:00 p.m.
