SCSU to Use Grants to Help Microbiologics and Essilor
ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud State University is again using a Jobs Skills Partnership grant from the state of Minnesota to help a couple of local companies with training their employees.
Essilor Optics doing business as dbl Labs, Precision Optics Inc., and Custom Eyes will use a $350,000 grant to customize a training program and certify workers in the specialized field of optical lens manufacturing.
Tammy Anhalt-Warner is the Director for Workforce Development at SCSU. She says Microbiologics will use the other grant to help streamline its operations as the company experiences rapid growth. Microbiologics is receiving just over $225,000 in grant money.
These Minnesota Jobs Skills Partnership grants mark the fifth and sixth collaborations SCSU has going. The others are with New Flyer, Park Industries, Nahan Printing, and American Axle and Manufacturing.
