The St. Cloud State men's hockey team took down Miami University on Saturday to earn their first weekend sweep of the 2019-2020 season.

A goal from Nick Poehling put SCSU up 1-0 in the first period. The Redhawks responded with a goal of their own to tie things up. St. Cloud State scored the only goal of the second period by Spencer Meier on the power play.

Jack Poehling, Kevin Fitzgerald, and Sam Hentges all scored for the Huskies in the third period. SCSU held off Miami to win it 5-3.

David Hrenak made 27 saves and allowed three goals.

The Huskies improve to 4-6-4 and 2-4-0 NCHC. They will return home on Friday to host Omaha in a weekend series. Pre-game starts at 7:00 p.m. on The River 96.7 FM.
