School District Uses Debt Collectors to Recover Lunch Money
ANOKA (AP) - The Anoka-Hennepin School District is getting tough on lunch money delinquents.
The district is turning to debt collectors to recover overdue lunch money, which administrators say has grown to $160,000.
Nutrition director Noah Atlas says unpaid meal fees have grown by nearly 50 percent between the last two school years.
Any parents who don't set up a payment plan will be referred to a collection agency.
