It really does seem like September just absolutely flew by with so many things happening,  School starting and lot of other events happening.  The summers in Minnesota always seem to be way too short  But here we are, heading into October, when a lot of people start decorating for Fall and Halloween.  Also - look for many of the "haunted" attractions to start opening up.

One of the most popular and scary attractions for Halloween is the haunted ship located in Duluth.

The William A. Irvin Haunted Ship is scheduled to open next Thursday, October 3rd, and will remain open for long weekends leading up to Halloween.  This ship has been a constant for the last 29 years.

That hint of cool breeze you feel isn’t just a change of weather. Those are the spirits of the Duluth Haunted Ship swinging on anchor just outside your view. The ghouls on board are waiting to morph the William A. Irvin historic freighter into something truly sinister.

There are some things to keep in mind if you are planning on trying to make your way through the ship.  There is no handicapped access.  There will be strobe lights and other special effects being used, so if you are sensitive to that, keep that in mind before buying tickets.  No one under the age of 12 will be admitted.  And in general, parental guidance is suggested.  This attraction can be very scary - last year 150 people needed an early exit.  But if you like that kind of thing - this is definitely for you.

This year, you can look forward to more activity outside of the ship on Harbor Drive—picture strewn lights, bonfires, drinks and food available for purchase, and more.

Tickets are on sale now.  They range in price from $20 to $75 for VIP.  The VIP access gives you some extras including:

Instant access (blowing past even our Fast Pass holders!) - Self-guided EXCLUSIVE experience of the Pilot House, including the Captain's Lounge with an NA beverage, photo ops- Plus, other spooky surprises. IF YOU SURVIVE, enjoy a complimentary adult or NA beverage in the VIP TENT

Another thing to keep in mind, there are no refunds.  Even if you are one of the people who has to bail before finishing the tour.  You can purchase tickets ahead of time (recommended) or at the door.
