Sartell Opens Newest Baseball Park [VIDEO]

SARTELL -- Baseball fans gathered at Sartell's newest ball park this afternoon (Friday) for the grand opening of Pinecone Central Park.

The park includes fields for sports like soccer, lacrosse, and football. As well as four new baseball fields.

Pete Johnson is with the Sartell Baseball Association. He says the park now gives teams the resources they need.

"Prior to the opening it was really difficult for teams to find room to practice or get home games scheduled," says Johnson.

The park also has room to for additional baseball fields if numbers continue to grow.

"We grew over ten percent and a big part of that is this facility," says Johnson

Johnson says it's the detail of the ball park that will not only attract local teams, but neighboring cities as well.

"The quality of this facility is amazing and we hear that from the other towns that come in to play Sartell or in these tournaments," says Johnson.

Pinecone Central Park kicks off its opening games this weekend.
