SARTELL -- The economy is growing stronger. That was the message this afternoon (Tuesday) at the annual Sartell State of the City Address.

Mayor Sarah Jane Nicoll addressed members of the community saying a growing community is the reason behind the city's success in the past year.

Building activity has been on the rise in Sartell since 2012 as new business continue to move in, more house are built, and current businesses expand.

Nicoll says looking ahead to 2015 the city will continue to focus working to build their community center (looking at cost to build the facility and location) and begin major reconstruction to Pinecone Road in June.

Police Chief Jim Hughes says they have had some challenges during the past year with the lost of three officers and dealing with some high profile cases. However, they continue to grow and be active in the community.

Fire Chief Ken Heim says they continues to operate with high efficiency having an ISO rating of 4 within the city and 8 within the township.

Nicoll says the city would not be where it is today without the support of the citizens who continue to make Sartell a great place to live.
