SARTELL --  Sartell High School is being awarded a 2013 National Gold Council of Excellence Award by the National Association of Student Councils.

The school is being recognized for having a record of leadership, service and activities that improve both the school and community.

Sartell is among 180 high school councils in the nation to receive recognition. Among those, 163 are named a National Gold Council of Excellence.

Schools that qualify for the award must include qualities like leadership training, school spirit activities, community service projects and financial planning, among others.

The National Association of Student Councils is an organization that provides leadership development opportunities to empower students to serve their schools and communities.
